Our Verdict
Pros
- +the thinner aluminum case sits flat on the wrist and doesn't catch on sleeves
- +display is visibly larger and makes reading full text messages much easier
- +fast charging takes the watch from nearly dead to 80 percent in roughly thirty minutes
- +vitals app gives a surprisingly clear snapshot of overnight health metrics without digging through menus
- +sleep apnea detection adds a genuine layer of health monitoring for nighttime wearers
Cons
- −battery still requires daily charging and won't survive a weekend trip without a cable
- −it only works with iphones so android users are completely locked out
- −the jet black finish is prone to showing micro-scratches over time compared to silver
- −upgrading from a series 9 isn't worth the cost since the internal processor speed feels identical

I skipped a few generations of Apple wearables before strapping on the Series 10, mostly because I hated sleeping with a chunky piece of metal and glass on my wrist. The first thing you notice about the 46mm case is how flat it sits. Apple shaved off enough thickness that it actually slides under a tight shirt cuff without catching, which makes wearing it all day and night genuinely tolerable. As a fitness tracker, it does the usual ring-closing routine, but the new Vitals app is what caught my attention. It aggregates overnight health metrics like respiratory rate, heart rate, and wrist temperature into one quick morning glance, and it even flags signs of sleep apnea. The display is noticeably wider, so reading a text or checking your running pace doesn't require squinting at tiny text bubbles anymore. But for all the refined hardware, the battery life is still the familiar Apple Watch story. You are charging this every single day. Thankfully, the fast charging is actually fast now, hitting 80 percent in about half an hour while I'm in the shower. If you are an iPhone user looking for the top smartwatch, this is obviously the default choice. It isn't a radical reinvention of the wristband, but the thinner profile and larger screen make it the most comfortable daily activity monitor they've released so far.
