Oiviato Military-Style Fitness Tracker and Smartwatch: A Full Review

I destroy watches. Between yard work, weekend hiking, and generally being clumsy, fragile screens rarely last a month on my wrist. I picked up the Oiviato because I wanted a smart watch for men under 100 that I wouldn't have to baby or worry about scratching on a rock. Straight out of the box, the metal casing feels heavy and durable, resembling those classic tactical watches but with a digital face. The 1.39-inch screen gets surprisingly bright, which makes reading texts outside in the sun actually possible.

It tracks the usual health metrics like heart rate, steps, and sleep, but I was surprised to see blood oxygen (SpO2) and blood pressure included at this price point. I wouldn't use it to replace actual medical equipment, but it gives a decent baseline for my daily activity. Speaking of activity, it has over 120 sports modes. I mostly just use the running and hiking settings, and the pedometer seems reasonably accurate compared to my phone's GPS.

The built-in LED flashlight is an odd addition, but I actually use it constantly to find the keyhole on my front door at night. Taking calls from the watch works okay if you're in a quiet room, though the speaker sounds a bit tinny if there's wind or traffic. It isn't a premium flagship device, and the companion app is a bit clunky to navigate at first. Still, if you need a tough fitness tracker that handles notifications and basic health stats without costing a fortune, this gets the job done.
