I used to think you had to spend half a paycheck just to get basic notifications on your wrist, but then I started digging into the ultra-budget wearable market. The DIVElink smartwatch costs less than a takeout dinner, which immediately made me skeptical about its actual performance. I figured the step counter would be wildly off or the screen would be unresponsive, but it actually handles the basics surprisingly well. It tracks heart rate, monitors sleep, and pushes alerts from my phone without constantly disconnecting. If you are looking for an under 100 smart watch, you usually have to compromise on either battery life or build quality. Here, the compromise is mostly in the companion app, Halofit, which feels pretty barebones compared to what you get from big-name fitness trackers. Still, the watch itself feels sturdy enough for daily wear. The built-in speaker and microphone are surprisingly loud; I took a quick phone call from my wrist while washing dishes and the person on the other end could hear me fine. It claims over a hundred sports modes, though realistically, most of them just track time and basic heart rate rather than giving you deep metrics. It is IP68 waterproof, so sweat and handwashing are fine, but I wouldn't trust taking it for a long swim. For the price, it is a highly functional digital timepiece that gives you a taste of smart features without a massive financial commitment.
