The 1.8-liter tank holds enough water to run continuously through the night and most of the next day on a lower setting. I appreciate the simple analog dial for mist control rather than tapping a finicky touch screen in the dark, and the 360-degree nozzle lets you point the vapor away from crib sheets so they don't get damp. The built-in night light is a nice touch, letting you pick a solid color or cycle through a rainbow, though it is thankfully optional if your kid needs total darkness to sleep.

At about $55, it costs a bit more than standard teardrop models, and the 250-square-foot coverage means it really only works for standard bedrooms, not large open playrooms. Cleaning it requires a bit of maneuvering with the included brush to reach the corners of the cloud shape. Still, for tackling winter colds and dry skin in a nursery, it does exactly what it needs to do without ruining the room's aesthetic.
